‘Stuber’ Trailer – Get Around L.A. in Bautista’s Worst Uber Ride Ever

The new action comedy from 20th Century Fox titled Stuber just got a trailer; starring Dave Bautista, Silicon Valley‘s Kumail Nanjiani (who will also be in this year’s Men in Black: International), Karen Gillan (Avengers: Endgame) and Natalie Morales (Santa Clarita Diet), the film takes place when an Uber ride goes about as wrong as it could possibly go.

So Bautista is obviously killing it in the big release department these days with the ex-fighter-turned-actor set to reprise his role as Drax the Destroyer in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as well as PG-13 comedy My Spy, teaming with Stallone in Escape Plan: Extraction and his role as Glossu ‘Beast’ Rabban in the currently filming Dune feature.

It’s safe to say that he’s rapidly becoming the ‘go to’ guy for big muscle action roles.

Stuber is directed by Michael Dowse from a script by Tripper Clancy.

Plot Synopsis:

A mild-mannered Uber driver named Stu picks up a grizzled detective who is hot on the trail of a sadistic, bloodthirsty terrorist and finds himself thrust into a harrowing ordeal where he has to keep his wits, himself unharmed, and work with his passenger while maintaining his high-class rating.

Stuber is being released on July 12th this year.

What do you guys think? I caught a couple of solid laugh out loud moments in the trailer and am kind of interested to see how things play out in this very tried and tested formula.

I also kind of think that it would be a fun double feature after 2004’s excellent thriller Collateral.
