The 100 Greatest Movie Teaser Trailers (50-41)

It’s been two weeks since Lucasfilm released the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and it really got me thinking about some of the other truly fantastic movie teasers from over the years. To me, a great teaser should really do just that … tease you like no tomorrow and leave you wanting more. Kinda like this girl I knew back in my younger years … but I digress. Whether it is a scene filmed just to wet your appetites, actual footage from the film or a sequence of images shown quickly on the screen, if it does a good job, I can guarantee your ass will be in that seat on opening day.

Here’s some of the best teaser trailers from over the years.

50. The Exorcist (1973)

Some truly frightening stuff.

49. There Will Be Blood (2007)

Fantastic teaser.

48. Little Children (2006)

The sound of that train is haunting. I almost accidentally linked this trailer instead.

47. Godzilla (2014)

The movie might not have shown enough Godzilla but it was still a fun ride.

46. Batman Begins (2005)

Ahhhhh before the DCEU.

45. Bubble (2005)

This one shows absolutely nothing of the film, but the imagery and music alone sold me on seeing this movie. I don’t recommend anyone doing the latter.

44. Comedian (2002)

In a world …

43. Men in Black (1997)

Man this movie was a ton of fun.

42. Back To The Future (1985)

Marmaduke Karlston is probably going to fire me for not having this higher on the list

41. The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

I love the use of Ralph McQuarrie’s artwork to tease the Star Wars sequel.
