The First ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Trailer is Here!

“Hello there.” Lucasfilm has finally released the first teaser trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, the new newest series to expand on the Star Wars lore.

God damn am I hyped up for this one! I have been waiting ages for Ewan McGregor to return as Obi-Wan. He’s hands down one of the best things to come out o the prequels. Everything about this looks intriguing. There’s just so much to take in this quick little teaser. First you have Obi-Wan keeping an eye on a young Luke Skywalker. Then there is the Grand Inquisitor’s hunt for the remaining Jedi, the rise of the Empire (that was totally the Emporer’s voice in there) and a brand new planet. All set to the phenomenal score of John Williams‘ iconic Duel of the Fates.

In addition to McGregor and Hayden Christensen, Obi-Wan Kenobi marks the return of Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse who played Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru at the end of the Revenge of the Sith. In the final print Entertainment Weekly issue, it was revealed that Moses Ingram portrays a force-sensitive Inquisitor named Reva who is tracking down Obi-Wan Kenobi. The limited run series is also set to introduce a new slew of characters, and possibly some old ones too. The rest of the cast list includes Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

Plot Synopsis:

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat: the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan Kenobi hits Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
