After being stuck in development hell for over a decade, it looks like Indiana Jones 5 is finally happening.
Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron) is the latest actor to join the cast of the fifth instalment in the action-adventure franchise. He joins Harrison Ford and new cast members Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal). James Mangold (Logan) directs taking over from previous franchise director Steven Spielberg, who remains on as an producer.
The Wrap reported the casting news, but they don’t know who Kretschmann is playing. Given his German background he could be playing a Nazi (since Indy seems to run into a lot of them over the course of four films), but maybe he’s going to play Indy’s best friend in the retirement home. Hey, a man can dream right?
Indiana Jones 5 hits theaters July 29, 2022.
What do you think of the Indiana Jones 5 cast so far? Do you like the cast they’ve assembled?
