Tom Cruise may finally be moving away from blockbusters.
With rumors of Glen Powell succeeding him as the star of the Mission: Impossible franchise, and a lead role in Alejandro G. Iñàrritu’s next movie, Cruise seems ready to flex his acting chops again. Filmmaker Doug Liman recently confirmed during a recent NYC screening of the documentary Gaucho Gaucho (via Deadline) that Cruise is attached to star in his supernatural thriller, Deeper, which is in early development.
Liman shared that he is looking forward to crafting a “scary” movie, remarking, “I have never done one and neither has Tom.” Deeper, according to sources, is currently set up at Warner Bros. That’s all we know right now.
