‘Total Recast’ Revived With New Co-Host; Listen to the Trailer Now!

Almost two years after the original incarnation of Total Recast left everyone in the Wasteland on read, the beloved podcast has been revived for a new season!

In the new season, Total Recast co-creator and host Sailor Monsoon is joined by a new co-host, longtime ScreenAge Wasteland writer Marmaduke Karlston. Every episode of Total Recast (known internally as 2 Total 2 Recast) follows Sailor and Duke as they review classic movies and recast the main characters with today’s actors.

It is important to mention that Total Recast is not advocating for any of the movies recast to actually be remade. This is just for fun (whether Sailor wants to admit it or not). Also worth noting is that the hosts may make changes to the original film to either update it or have it match their new vision.

Now for the rules. If Bill Paxton is in the movie, no matter how small the role, he will be discussed. Total Recast also has the “Tom Hardy Rule” which means each host is only allowed to use an actor or director once every 12 episodes.

Here’s a sample of some movies New Total Recast will discuss and recast in its debut season: Face/Off (1997), Nighthawks (1981), Teen Wolf (1985), and many more classics. The first episode will be dropping redacted for your safety!

Be sure to subscribe or follow so new episodes are downloaded right away when they are released on all podcasting platforms, including Apple (TBA) and Spotify. Also, if you want to leave a review (hopefully five stars) on the platform you listen to, that will help bring more listeners to our show, which in turn will allow us to continue making new episodes.

If you’re still on Twitter, you can follow Total Recast, as well as other ScreenAge Wasteland podcasts, @SAWpodcasts.
