MOVIES AND SHOWS WATCHED THIS WEEK
The Final Girls (2015) – I did not watching this because Duke recommended it on our 31 Days of Halloween list. BUT I was intrigued by the premise. It’s pretty entertaining and makes fun of slashers in an interesting way. If you liked Happy Death Day (I know Duke did, but don’t let that turn you off) you’ll enjoy this too. It’s not as good as HDY, but it’s entertaining enough. Needed some nudity to really have that 80s vibe. 3/5
The Loved Ones (2009) – Aside from this being the name of one of my favorite punk bands, this was one fucked up film. Sure there are worse/more graphic horror films out there, but this is so realistic it’s disturbing. 3.75/5
Ravenous (1999) – Just a truly bizarre film that somehow works. It’s got a great cast and it keeps you involved the whole time. Fun fact: Damon Albarn of Blur and Gorillaz was a composer for the score. 4/5
Clerks III (2022) – I gotta say this felt more like the first film than the second one did. Overall I really enjoyed it. It is meta and it works. It finds a way to mention pretty much all of his movies but its got heart. It’s also kinda great to see so many of the original cast pop back in for a minute. 4/5
