Inspired by the popular online game that asks people to choose one movie from a group of four, One Choice… is pretty much the same game. Readers will be given four similar movies and asked to choose one. Now here’s the catch, the other three movies will be gone forever, wiped from your brain as if they never existed. Are you ready to theoretically live in a world where you have The Empire Strikes Back but not Star Wars or Return of the Jedi? What about the 1989 Batman movie but not Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight? The choice is yours, screenager, so choose wisely.
It’s October, the time of year when ScreenAge Wasteland becomes ScreamAge Wasteland. However, for 2022 we’ve also decided to attach a theme to the month and this year it’s Stephen King! So, what better way to celebrate the author’s vast body of adapted works than by making you all pick only one? This week, it’s four movie adaptations from the ’70s and ’80s. Good luck!
Here are the 4 Movies:
Carrie (1976)
Cast: Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, and Amy Irving
Synopsis: Carrie White, a shy, friendless teenage girl who is sheltered by her domineering, religious mother, unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom.
The Shining (1980)
Cast: Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, and Danny Lloyd
Synopsis: A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where a sinister presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from both past and future.
The Dead Zone (1983)
Cast: Christopher Walken, Brooke Adams, and Tom Skerritt
Synopsis: A man awakens from a coma to discover he has a psychic ability.
Stand by Me (1986)
Cast: Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O’Connell.

So, will it be Carrie, The Shining, The Dead Zone, or Stand by Me? It’s time to choose. What will be your One Choice?
