What Are Your Favorite ’90s TV Shows?

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

If you still didn’t get the memo, November has been “90s Month” at ScreenAge Wasteland. We ran a Top 100 Greatest ’90s Movie Characters list, voting is currently open for the 1995 RetrOscars, and we’re just wrapping up our daily ’90s-movie themed Twitter polls on @SAWpolls.

Similar to a few weeks ago when we asked what your favorite ’90s movies were, today’s QOTD wants to know: what are your favorite TV shows from the decade?

I think I’d be lying to myself if I didn’t choose Seinfeld as my favorite TV show of the nineties. It was the first ’90s comedy series I watched repeatedly if it was on TV. Even to this day, if there are reruns on TV, I’ll be watching it over anything else.

The next closest would be Spin City, starring Michael J. Fox. I got the first season on DVD for my birthday probably a decade ago, and have cherished those episodes since then. I finally managed to snag season DVDs of the rest of the series, so I get to enjoy watching Fox as Mike Flaherty, the Deputy Mayor of New York, for a few more seasons at least.

So what about you, folks? What are some of your favorite TV shows from the ’90s?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
