What Film Do You Think is Overrated?

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

There’s lots of movies out there that people talk about all the time. Some that even win awards that you might not quite understand how they won. It just baffles the mind sometimes how people praise a movie and you just don’t see what they see.

So the question I ask today is: What film do you think is overrated?

I’m not gonna go on a long diatribe about all this at all. I know you all have a movie or two that you flat out think is overrated, so why not just let it all out here. I’ve got two to get you started. Gladiator and The Departed. Sure, Joaquin is good in Gladiator, but really Best Picture? So no … I was not entertained. And The Departed is by far not even close to the best Scorsese picture. It was a total make up for his past and much better movies that got robbed.

So what about you, folks? What film do you think is overrated?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
