What is the Biggest Factor in Why You Won’t Watch a Movie?

I’m sure it’s a lot easier to answer what the reasons are we watch the movies we watch. We love the actor, genre, or director. The movie was recommended by a trusted source or we are simply crossing it off some checklist for whatever reason. The trailer looked really cool. Boobs. Whatever it is, we all have some standard as to why we will watch a particular movie.

What I want to talk about today are some reasons why you won’t watch a movie. We all have those movies that we Nancy Reagan and “just say no” too. What turns you off from buying a ticket, renting, or pushing play on a movie? Is it a bad trailer or awful reviews? You don’t like an actor or director? Is it because of the genre? it doesn’t have to be a movie you never watched. There are plenty of movies that I was turned off by during it initial market and release but ended up watching after some time for one reason or another.

So the question I ask today is: What is the biggest factor in why you won’t a movie?

Other than just saying a movie looks dumb or just doesn’t appeal to me, I would have to say generally it is because of the actors involved. That will usually turn me off quicker than anything to a movie. If there is an actor or multiple that I don’t care for in a movie like say, Katherine Heigl, then I am out. If there are generally unknown actors involved then it will be based on my initial reaction to the film. But if I see an actor that I can’t stand and are usually in bad movies that I don’t care for then there is a good possibility I’m skipping it.
