Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.
Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.
I was trying to come up with a good question for QOTD that would generate some quality discussion down in the comments. My mind wandered to Happy Death Day and the idea that the main character relives the same day (and essentially is stuck in that movie). Edge of Tomorrow and Groundhog Day are other popular examples of films dealing with time loops.
So the question I ask today is: what movie would you want to be stuck in?
I really tried to think of a film I would want to be stuck in that wasn’t Back to the Future, I really did. But at the end of the day, you have to pick what you have to pick.
I would gladly be stuck in this film. I would hang out around Hill Valley in 1985 or 1955. I wouldn’t care if in wee hours of the morning I was suddenly transported to 1955. I would rock whatever time period I was in.
Also, it would be like watching Back to the Future LIVE! I could follow Marty McFly around all day and watch the movie up close. But here’s the real kicker. After being stuck in the film for a couple watches, I could just sneak into the DeLorean at the end of the film and BOOM I’m all of a sudden in Back to the Future Part II.
The logic is solid, trust me.
So what about you, folks? What movie out there would you want to be stuck in?
I’ll see you in the trenches.
