It turns out that it actually is one-and-done for Wonder Man.
Variety has learned that Disney+ has reversed its renewal for Wonder Man, just four months after handing it a surprise Season 2 order. According to sources, a writers’ room for Season 2 was never opened, and the show’s writers have now been released to pursue other projects.
While it was not considered to have attracted a large audience, Wonder Man was a critical darling. The first season holds a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Yahya Abdul Mateen II also managed to pick up an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the show, an impressive feat.
Variety notes that the characters featured in Wonder Man could still appear in other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects. (I HOPE SO!)
With the cancellation, Marvel Television has zero projects in development or production. VisionQuest and Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 are both in post-production, ahead of their respective releases in October 2026 and March 2027.
