Zack Snyder is getting in the Octagon. The fan-favorite filmmaker is teaming up with the UFC for Brawler.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Brawler will, according to a logline from the movie’s producers, “portray a young fighter rising from the rough streets of Los Angeles to get a shot at a UFC championship but having to battle his inner demons as he fights for redemption.”
Snyder will direct Brawler from a screenplay he will co-write with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. He will also produce alongside Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller through their Stone Quarry banner.
“Behind every great fighter is the story of how they got there. UFC is the world leader in combat sports, and I’m honored to be partnering with them to tell this incredible story,” Snyder said in a statement.
Brawler is expected to be Snyder’s next feature after his untitled LAPD movie for Netflix, which he is in development on right now.
