It’s official: Tom Cruise‘s next movie will be Days of Thunder 2.
Cruise took to X this past weekend to reveal that Anne Hathaway will join him in Days of Thunder 2, which Paramount Pictures will release in theaters on June 2, 2028. The social media announcement saw the two A-listers reveal the news by leaning against a NASCAR race car in Daytona.
The Days of Thunder sequel will be filmed for IMAX and will also be available in Dolby cinemas, 4DX, and premium large-screen formats.
Jonathan Levine is attached to direct the picture. Cruise will be back as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle, while Hathaway is expected to play a team owner and engineer. Will Staples penned the script.
