Bradley Cooper to Lead Steven Spielberg’s Frank Bullitt Movie

Steven Spielberg has found his Frank Bullitt.

According to Deadline, Bradley Cooper has closed a deal to play the no-nonsense San Francisco cop in Spielberg’s standalone Bullitt sequel. The character was previously played by Steve McQueen in the 1968 thriller. Although Cooper’s deal only recently closed, apparently he and Spielberg have been talking about the character and this upcoming film since the start of the pandemic.

The untitled Bullitt 2 is set up at Warner Bros., with Josh Singer set to pen the script. Cooper will also produce the upcoming film along with Spielberg and Kristie Macosko Krieger. Steve McQueen’s son, Chad, and granddaughter, Molly, will serve as executive producers on the new film.

Spielberg will direct the new Bullitt film, which does not yet have a release date.
