Check Out Concept Art From Ben Affleck’s Scrapped Batman Solo Movie

Robert Pattinson may be the only Caped Crusader in theaters right now, but his film, The Batman, almost starred a different version of DC Comics‘ most well-known crimefighter.

It’s no secret that The Batman began development as a solo outing for Ben Affleck’s take on the Dark Knight. However, Affleck later dropped out of writing, directing, and starring in the film, which eventually led to the version we can currently see right now on the big screen.

However, we can now catch a glimpse of what Affleck might have looked like as Batman in the film, thanks to some newly released concept art.

Concept artist Keith Christensen has been sharing some unused designs for Ben Affleck’s Batman and Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke that he did for The Batman back in its earliest stages. Check them out below.

I’m really digging both of these designs. Deathstroke’s in particular is much better (in my opinion) than the one we saw grace the screen at the end of Justice League. And while I like Batfleck’s official DCEU suit, I definitely like the more Dark Knight-esque combat version seen above.

What are your thoughts on the concept art? Do you think we’ll ever see Manganiello’s Deathstroke again in the DCEU?
