Frank Grillo, David Harbour & More Join DC Studios’ ‘Creature Commandos’

The DC Universe is beginning to take shape.

Per Collider, the entire voice cast of Creature Commandos has been revealed. The upcoming animated series is currently expected to be the first DCU project released after Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

After fueling rumors online for weeks now, Frank Grillo is confirmed to play Rick Flag Sr. in the DCU. He will be joined by Sean Gunn as Weasel and G.I. Robot, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma as The Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, and David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein.

Steve Agee and Viola Davis will also reprise their role from previous DC media as John Economos and Amanda Waller, respectively. Following Collider‘s report, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn confirmed the voice cast on Twitter.

The Creature Commandos are a team of military superhumans that originally appeared in Weird War Tales #93 (1980). They were created by writer J. M. DeMatteis and artist Pat Broderick. The original team’s missions took place during World War II. A modern team headlined their own miniseries in 2000. The DCU version will be set in the present DCU timeline.

Creature Commandos will release exclusively on HBO Max in 2024.
