‘DuckTales’ Season 3 Will Feature Goofy, Daisy Duck, and F.O.W.L.

Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes, it’s a duck-blur.

I will be one of the first people to admit that I was entirely wrong about the 2017 reboot of DuckTales. What I thought was going to be a watered-down cash grab of a series instead turned out to be one of the best animated series currently airing. In my opinion, what sets this version apart from the original is the overarching storylines. I’m a sucker for character development.

We’ve known for a while now that future seasons of DuckTales would crack open the Disney Afternoon vault and release a slew of characters from Goof Troop, Darkwing Duck, TaleSpin, and Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. Season 2 already featured appearances by Darkwing Duck and sky pirate Don Carnage, but season 3 is about to make season 2 “hold his beer”.

The third season will premiere with two new episodes on April 4, 2020 on Disney XD. The main story will pit “Scrooge and his friends and family against the Fiendish Organization for World Larceny (F.O.W.L.) – a sinister spy group from Darkwing Duck.” It will also feature appearances from Daisy Duck and Goofy.

In addition to reintroducing classic Disney characters to a new generation, season 3 has an absolutely stellar voice cast. Guest stars this season include Giancarlo Esposito, Selma Blair, Kristofer Hivju, Bebe Neuwirth, Retta, Stephanie Beatriz, Jaleel White, Doug Jones, Clancy Brown, James Marsters, Hugh Bonneville, Abby Ryder-Fortson, Tress MacNeille, Bill Farmer, James Monroe Iglehart and Adam Pally.

No actor listed above is currently tied to a character. However, Tress MacNeille and Bill Farmer are the current voice actors for Daisy and Goofy, so $10 says that’s who they will be voicing.

I’m extremely excited to see the Disney Afternoon making a comeback. There’s currently a new Chip ‘n Dale series in development at Disney+, so maybe this is the start of something new. I know I would be in favor of new series dedicated to the original Disney animated stars. There’s enough Olaf merchandise. I want to see Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and all their friends step back into the spotlight where they truly belong.

Have you watched the new DuckTales? Would you be down for a new version of the Disney Afternoon animation block?
