Edward Furlong Back as John Connor in R-Rated ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’

“I hunt Terminators. Enough of a resume for you?”

A couple huge Terminator: Dark Fate announcements dropped during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.

Series creator and Terminator: Dark Fate producer James Cameron kicked off the event via live video chat from the New Zealand set of his upcoming Avatar sequels. He revealed that Edward Furlong would be returning to portray John Connor. Furlong played the role in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Director Tim Miller then dropped the best news fans of this franchise want to hear. After both Terminator: Salvation (2009) and Terminator: Genisys (2015) were rated PG-13, Miller said that Dark Fate will be R-rated. Although, PG-13 was on the table.

“I had a whole other plan in case it didn’t go R. The thing is the DNA of Terminator is an R-rated fucking movie.”

I’m stoked to see Furlong back as Connor even if it is only for a cameo. With the r-rating and Furlong, Dark Fate is already making this a true direct sequel to Judgment Day and I couldn’t be happier. Let’s just hope the film can deliver.

Oh, and here’s the Comic-Con featurette that was recently released.

Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters November 1, 2019.
