It’s official: Fast & Furious is moving to the small screen.

According to Deadline, Peacock has greenlit its first television series based on the hit movie franchise. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman will write and serve as co-showrunners. Daniels recently served as showrunner for Ponies, and worked on Sons of Anarchy and NBC’s upcoming The Rockford Files reboot. Coleman has executive produced series such as 9-1-1: Lone Star.

A live-action Fast & Furious series was first announced back in May during NBCUniversal’s Upfront event. Franchise star Vin Diesel, who will executive produce the series, had the following to say about bringing Fast to TV:

“As you all know, we are very precious about these movies but over the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more, they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space.”

The untitled series, from Universal Television, is set to premiere in 2028 on Peacock. No word yet on who will star or what the show will be about. We’ll keep you posted. As for the film side, Fast Forever, the 11th and final film in the franchise, is also set to hit theaters in 2028.
