The cast for Miami Vice ’85 just keeps getting better.

Walton Goggins is the latest addition to Joseph Kosinski‘s upcoming feature adaptation of the iconic 1980s TV show, according to Deadline. Unconfirmed sources state that Goggins will play one of the henchmen to John Leguizamo’s cartel king.

Kosinski reportedly was high on Goggins early to play the role. Once the production worked around his schedule for his Prime Video series Fallout, a deal was done for the actor to join the cast.

Whitney Peak, Alden Ehrenreich, Camila Morrone, and Danny Ramirez are also on board to star in Miami Vice ’85, with Austin Butler and Michael B. Jordan as Crockett and Tubbs.

With a screenplay by Dan Gilroy, Miami Vice ’85 promises to explore the glamour and corruption of mid-1980s Miami. The movie is said to be inspired by the pilot episode of the original 1980s series. Production is slated to begin before the end of the year.

Miami Vice ’85 will be filmed for IMAX and is set for release in theaters on May 19, 2028.
