First Look at Leslie Grace as ‘Batgirl’ Released

There’s a new hero stalking the streets of Gotham City at night and she’s not afraid to break out the leather.

On Friday evening, Batgirl star Leslie Grace shared the first official look at Warner Bros.’ upcoming DC film, in which she stars Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.

In a tweet, the actress quoted the comic Batgirl: Year One with a picture of herself suited up as Batgirl:

“I use their expectations against them. That will be their weakness. Not mine. Let them all underestimate me… And when their guard is down, and their pride is rising, let me kick their butts.”

First thoughts? It’s fine. It’s better than I thought, actually. It’s a good “starter suit,” similar to the one we see Tom Holland’s Peter Parker rock in Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. My bet is that Michael Keaton‘s role in the film will be a Batman cameo at the end showing Barbara Gordon the Batcave and revealing a new batsuit for her to wear while fighting crime.

Batgirl is currently in production and slated for a release on HBO Max. In addition to Grace and Keaton, Batgirl also stars J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Brendan Fraser as the villain Firefly. Jacob Scipio, Rebecca Front, Corey Johnson, and Ethan Kai are also part of the film’s cast.

What do you think of Barbara Gordon’s first Batsuit? Were you hoping the suit would take inspiration from a different iteration of Barbara’s Batgirl legacy instead of the 2014 “Burnside” suit?
