Full Moon and Fangoria announce ‘Castle Freak’ Remake

After the success of last year’s Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, Fangoria and Full Moon Features are teaming up again to reimagine 1995’s cult horror classic, Castle Freak. 

Plot Synopsis:

Recently-blinded Rebecca, her boyfriend, and some of their friends traveling to Albania to help manage Rebecca’s unexpected inheritance of a castle left by her estranged mother. Once they arrive, they learn of Rebecca’s family harboring dark secret with potentially cosmic implications. Mysterious events and horrific murders begin to take place as Rebecca must unravel her family’s own mysterious history before she too falls prey to… the Castle Freak.

 

Cast will include newcomer Clair Catherine, Jake Horowitz (The Vast of Night), Chris Galust (Give Me Liberty), and Kika Magalhães (The Eyes of My Mother), Emily Sweet (Syn), Elisha Pratt (“True Detective”), and Omar Brunson. 

Tate Steinsiek (Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, Satanic Panic), award-winning SFX makeup artist, will be making his directorial debut of the script written by Kathy Charles (The Kings of Maine). Italian maestro Fabio Frizzi (Zombi 2, The Beyond) will compose an original score for the movie.

No word if original Castle Freak star Barbara Crampton will appear in the film, but she is at least a producer along with Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk are producing for FANGORIA. Charles Band (producer of the original film), and Justin Martell & Matt Manjourides. David Gilbery and Charles Dorfman are executive producing for Media Finance Capital, who have fully financed the picture. Adam Donaghey, Phil Nobile Jr and Danielle Cox are executive producing for FANGORIA, alongside Bobby Campbell of Good Wizard.

Production begins next month in Albania.
