Entertainment Weekly has offered fans our first look at Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld in Hawkeye, the next live-action Marvel Studios streaming series to grace Disney+.
Renner will, of course, be returning as Clint Barton / Hawkeye in the upcoming series, a role he has played since 2011’s Thor. Steinfeld will be playing Kate Bishop / Hawkeye, who makes her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Hawkeye.
On Bishop, here is what Renner had to say:
“[Kate is] a 22-year-old kid and she’s a big Hawkeye fan. She has a wonderfully annoying and equally charming manner about her, because she’s such a fangirl of Hawkeye. The relationship grows from that, but the biggest problem for Clint is Kate Bishop and the onslaught of problems that she brings into his life.”
As a huge Hawkeye fan myself, I’m glad to hear that Kate will be representing a part of fandom that most people refuse to believe exists (there are Hawkeye fans!!!). I cannot wait to check out this series! You know I will be watching weekly!
Hawkeye premieres November 24, 2021 on Disney+. New episodes will drop on Wednesdays.
Are you excited for Hawkeye? How close do you hope the series sticks to adapting the popular Matt Fraction & David Aja run from the comics?
