‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ Adds Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener

Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener are the latest actors to board Joker: Folie à Deux.

According to Deadline, Gleeson and Keener have joined the upcoming Joker sequel in undisclosed roles. They will star opposite Joaquin Phoenix, who reprises his role from the first film as Arthur Fleck/Joker, Lady Gaga, who will play Harley Quinn, and Zazie Beetz, who is also back from 2019’s Joker.

Production on the film is expected to commence this December. Todd Phillips is back in the director’s chair for the sequel and he also co-wrote the script with Scott Silver. Plot details remain unknown for Folie à Deux, but insiders have stated that the sequel will be a musical (hence Gaga’s casting) and will be largely set in Arkham Asylum.

Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled to open in theaters on October 4, 2024.
