Will Sasso (The Three Stooges), Brent Sexton (Bosch, The Belko Experiment) and CJ Wilson (Manchester By The Sea) have all boarded the feature film joining Steve Carrell, Mackenzie Davis, Topher Grace, Rose Byrn, Chris Cooper and Debra Messing.
Stewart’s script centres on a Democratic political consultant (Carell) who helps a retired ex-Marine (Cooper) run for mayor in a small conservative Wisconsin town.
Sexton will portray “down to earth incumbent Mayor Braun” while Sasso and Wilson’s roles haven’t yet been announced even though Irresistible is described as being in post production.
Deadline reports also that Stewart is not only writing and directing the future, but will co-produce alongside Plan B while Focus Features and Universal Pictures International will distribute the film worldwide.
Irresistible will be in theatres sometime in 2020.
What do you guys think? While Stewart is obviously more known for his TV writing and hosting duties, this will be his second feature after 2014’s Rosewater, a harrowing true-life prison drama based on some very close-to-home events.
