A first look (above) at Justice League: Warworld has been released alongside the voice cast for the upcoming DC Universe Animated Original Movies installment.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Jensen Ackles, Darren Criss, Stana Katic, and Ike Amadi will reprise their voice roles from previous Tomorrowverse films as Batman/Officer Wayne, Superman/Agent Kent, Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, and Martian Manhunter/J’onn J’onzz, respectively, in Warworld, which hails from Warner Bros. Animation, DC Studios, and Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.
The cast also includes Troy Baker as Jonah Hex, Matt Bomer as Old Man, Roger C. Cross as Machiste, Brett Dalton as Bat Lash, Trevor Devall as Drifter, John DiMaggio as Lobo, Robin Atkin Downes as Mongul, Frank Grillo as Agent Faraday, Rachel Kimsey as Mariah Romanova, David Lodge as Sheriff, Damian O’Hare as Deimos, and Teddy Sears as Warlord.
The official synopsis for Justice League: Warworld reads as follows: “Until now, the Justice League has been a loose association of superpowered individuals. But when they are swept away to Warworld, a place of unending brutal gladiatorial combat, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the others must somehow unite to form an unbeatable resistance able to lead an entire planet to freedom.”
Justice League: Warworld will be the seventh installment in the Tomorrowverse, a collection of animated DC films sharing a cohesive animation style and continuity. The shared universe began in 2020 with its namesake Superman: Man of Tomorrow and has continued with Justice Society: World War II, Batman: The Long Halloween, Parts One and Two (all 2021), Green Lantern: Beware My Power (2022) and Legion of Super-Heroes (2023).
Jeff Wamester directed Justice League: Warworld from a script by Jeremy Adams, Ernie Altbacker, and Josie Campbell. The producers are Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau. Executive producers include Butch Lukic, Sam Register, and Michael Uslan.
Justice League: Warworld is expected to release on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD in Summer 2023.
