Lee Cronin is about to breathe some new life into The Mummy for New Line.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Cronin is set to write and direct a new take on the horror classic, which to the best of my knowledge is not at all connected to Universal’s The Mummy series. Cronin previously teamed with New Line for Evil Dead Rise, which grossed nearly $150 million worldwide.
Blumhouse and Atomic Monster are co-financing and producing the movie, which has an April 17, 2026 release date. Blumhouse confirmed THR‘s report on the social media platform X.

“This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before,” Cronin said in a statement to THR. “I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.”
Are you down for another Mummy movie? Personally, I’d rather have another Brendan Fraser Mummy.
