New Line Moving Forward with ‘Mortal Kombat’ Sequel

For all those shouting, “FINISH HIM!”, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait because New Line Cinema is just getting started.

The studio has just hired Jeremy Slater, who was head writer on the Disney+ series Moon Knight, to script the sequel for Mortal Kombat.

The action-adventure film based on the popular video game franchise earned rave reviews from its fanbase and made some decent coin at the box office (and on streaming).

No director or cast from the first film have been announced to be returning yet. We’ll keep you posted.

Are you happy to hear Mortal Kombat 2 is happening? What do you hope to see happen in the sequel? Tell us down in the comments!
