New ‘The New Mutants’ Trailer Coming Monday; Director Josh Boone Confirms It’s His Original Vision

I honestly thought The New Mutants would never see the light of day. But here we are at the start of 2020 and it looks like this film will finally be released.

Director Josh Boone has confirmed on his Instagram account that a new trailer will be released on Monday, January 6.

A fan asked Boone if this will be the original version of the movie he shot, and Boone also confirmed this.

The New Mutants was originally going to undergo reshoots due to poor test screenings, but in March of 2019, star Maisie Williams said the reshoots never happened.

Now it looks like Boone’s original cut of the film will be the one hitting theaters April 3, 2020. Although, I think this film is coming out too late.

The FoX-Men universe is finished. Dark Phoenix was a colossal bomb, and the X-Men will be rebooted into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even if The New Mutants is a critical and commercial success where does the franchise go from here?

Rumors state that all references to the greater X-Men universe have been cut from the film, so there’s the possibility the franchise could continue as a standalone non-X-Men series. Or maybe the film will be integrated into the MCU?

I guess we’ll find out more on Monday when the new trailer is released.

Do you think The New Mutants is coming out too late? Are you excited to see the new trailer?
