With Spider-Man: Brand New Day grossing over $2.5 billion worldwide, it’s no wonder that Sony wants to stay in the Tom Holland business.
According to Deadline, Sony Pictures has pre-emptively bought Penthouse, an original thriller based on an idea by Drew Pearce. The movie is being developed as a starring vehicle for Holland.
Pearce and Holland will both produce Penthouse, via their respective production companies Point of No Return and Billy17. Pearce will write the script, with Holland and his Billy17 partners providing input in its development.
Penthouse will mark Holland’s sixth movie for Sony, after the four Spider-Man movies, Uncharted, and the upcoming Fred Astaire biopic. The latter is finally moving ahead after five years in development. Margaret Qualley, Sabrina Carpenter and Talia Ryder were recently announced as his co-stars.
What do you think of Tom Holland doing a Drew Pearce-penned thriller?
