‘Pierce Brosnan to Star in ‘Youth’, a Science-Fiction Film About De-Aging Gone Wrong

Here’s an upcoming science-fiction project that has piqued my interest.

Pierce Brosnan (’90s James Bond) is set to star in Youth, an adaptation of the 2016 short film of the same name. Brett Marty, who directed the short, is also signed on to direct the feature-length version.

The Wrap has the early synopsis: “Set in the near future, ‘Renewal’ is the world’s hottest commodity, a procedure to rewind your body’s biological clock. Joel (Brosnan) is an ad-tech engineer who is about to retire at age 70, but his company doesn’t want to lose him and pays for him and his wife to Renew. His wife returns in her twenties, but Joel’s procedure goes wrong, and he begins aging rapidly.”

Heck yeah! That’s an idea I can get behind. There’s no distributor attached yet, but sales for the project will happen next month at the Marché du Film Online. In the mean time, check out the trailer for the 2016 short (and if anyone can find me a link to the full short please let me know in the comments).

Thoughts on the idea? Would you watch Brosnan age rapidly?
