HBO has just released the first trailer for its new series Avenue 5 from Veep series creator Armando Iannucci which we first heard about back in April.
I never watched Veep, but I heard good things. And this looks pretty damn funny from that minute and a half preview. So if you were big fan of Veep or you are just a fan of Hugh Laurie (I know I am) or you just like comedy in general, then it looks like Avenue 5 might be the show for you.
Joining Laurie is Josh Gad as Herman Judd, the billionaire face and name behind Avenue 5, Rebecca Front as Karen Kelly, a passenger who boarded Avenue 5 using her sister’s non-transferable ticket, Lenora Crichlow as Billie McEvoy, second engineer, Zach Woods as Matt Spencer, head of customer relations, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Rav Mulcair, head of Judd Mission Control on Earth and Ethan Phillips, best known for being Neelix on Voyager, as Spike Martin, elderly space enthusiast and former astronaut.
Plot Synopsis:
Avenue 5 launches on HBO in January 2020.
