The cast for the upcoming DC Comics film, Blue Beetle, continues to grow.
Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct), Raoul Max Trujillo (Mayans M.C.), Adriana Barraza (Bingo Hell), George Lopez (The Spy Next Door), Elpidia Carrillo (Predator), and Damián Alcázar (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) are the latest actors to board the upcoming DC Extended Universe film.
Stone will be playing Victoria Kord, a new character created for the film who sources believe will have ties to Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle in DC Comics lore. Victoria Kord will be the main antagonist in Blue Beetle.
Trujillo will star as the secondary villain, Carapax the Indestructible Man. In the comics, Carapax the Indestructible Man uses indestructible technology that was invented by Jarvis Kord and his nephew Ted. Could this backstory have been changed for the film so the technology was invented by Victoria Kord? I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
The other new castmembers will be playing members in the Reyes family. Barraza is playing Nana, Lopez will be playing Uncle Rudy, Carrillo will be playing Rocio, and Alcázar is playing Alberto.
Previous castmembers confirmed for Blue Beetle include Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, and Harvey Guillén. Xolo Maridueña stars as the titular character, Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle.
Blue Beetle hits theaters August 18, 2023.
