‘Star Wars: Visions’ Trailer: In an Anime Galaxy Far, Far Away…

Disney / Lucasfilm has released an official trailer for Star Wars: Visions, an upcoming anthology anime series. Let’s take a look.

Oh yeah, I cannot wait to see how these Japanese studios approached the Star Wars universe. The animated looks stunning (and a million times better than those CGI series y’all seem to love).

Also, Lucasfilm clearly spared no expense when it came to casting. Lucy Liu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Neil Patrick Harris, Alison BrieKaren FukuharaKimiko GlennSimu LiuKyle ChandlerDavid HarbourHenry GoldingJamie Chung, and George Takei are all set to voice characters across the nine short films. Oh, and Temuera Morrison will be returning as Boba Fett for one episode.

Plot Synopsis (via executive producer and Lucasfilm Vice President, Franchise Content & Strategy, James Waugh):

Lucasfilm is partnering with seven of the most talented anime studios in Japan to bring their signature style and unique vision of the Star Wars galaxy to this inspired new series. Their stories showcase the full spectrum of bold storytelling found across Japanese animation; each told with a freshness and voice that expands our understanding of what a Star Wars story can be, and celebrates a galaxy that has been such an inspiration to so many visionary storytellers.

The entirety of Star Wars: Visions begins streaming September 22, 2021 on Disney+.
