Nathan Fillion is finally getting the chance to portray Green Lantern in live-action, just not the one most fans would expect.
Per Vanity Fair, Fillion is set to play Guy Gardner / Green Lantern in Superman: Legacy while Isabela Merced will play Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi will star as Mister Terrific. They join a cast that so far includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.
Plot details remain under wraps for the highly-anticipated film, although Gunn previously confirmed that Legacy will be centered around Superman’s heritage. Legacy will also avoid retelling Superman’s origin and instead begin with Clark Kent already Superman and working for the Daily Planet. Filming on the film will begin in early 2024. The upcoming reboot will be the first film released as part of Chapter 1 of the DCU.
Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman: Legacy opens in theaters on July 11, 2025.
