Taron Egerton Says ‘Kingsman 3’ Script is Written; Wants to Finish Trilogy

I know that we have The King’s Man coming next February to satisfy our thirst for more Kingsman content, but it’s already been two years since our last adventure with spies Eggsy and Harry Hart, and I need a third film ASAP.

Luckily, Eggsy himself Taron Egerton is here to give us an update. According to Comicbook, he was recently at ACE Comic Con Midwest this past weekend, and confirmed that a script for a third film does exist. He revealed:

“I’m really not allowed to say anything, but there is a script. It’s a really neat idea. That plan, at the moment, is that we’d like to do another one, one more time.”

He continued:

“It [Kingsman] was the role that kind of started my film career so I’m always going to feel, you know, a great fondness for the part. I would like to do one more because frankly, I’d like to say goodbye to him [Eggsy] in a befitting way and to finish the trilogy. All good things come to an end. It was always imagined as a trilogy and I think it’d be great to finish the story off because I’ve loved playing the character.”

Kingsman: The Secret Service is one of my all-time favorite films. It was something I hadn’t seen in the theater before, and it blew my mind. The Golden Circle was definitely a disappointment which is why I cross my fingers and pray when I say that I hope Disney will let director Matthew Vaughn finish the trilogy.

Vaughn has spoken in the past about how he too wants to finish out the Eggsy/Hart storyline:

“The end of this movie [Golden Circle], if you think about it: you have Eggsy’s definitely going to go on a new journey. Galahad, or Harry Hart’s going on a new journey. Tequila’s going on a new journey. Jeff’s (Bridges) going on a new journey, Halle (Berry), the new agent Whiskey, is. The next movie is what happens to these characters. They’re definitely not going to be doing what you’ve seen them do before.”

Everyone needs to go see The King’s Man on February 14, 2020 to let Disney know that there is definitely interest in another main franchise installment. Don’t let the flame die out!

So until a third Kingsman outing gets confirmed, the next best thing we have is this short crossover film bringing together the worlds of Eggsy and Sterling Archer (Archer).

Will you be seeing The King’s Man in theaters? Do you want a third installment featuring Eggsy, Harry Hart, and the Statesman?
