The Teen Titans are heading to the DC Universe.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ana Nogueira has been tapped to pen the screenplay for a live-action feature about the teenage sidekicks of the Justice League. This marks her second project for DC Studios after writing the upcoming DCU movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
While not officially confirmed yet to take place in the DCU, it would be strange for James Gunn to make this an Elseworlds project, especially when The Brave and the Bold is set to introduce Damian Wayne/Robin to the universe. As well, with Xolo Maridueña confirmed to return as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, after a brief stint in the DC Extended Universe, there are already two confirmed members of the Titans that exist in the DCU.
Of course, the most popular lineup for the Teen Titans is from The New Teen Titans, which consisted of Robin/Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Wonder Girl. The first five are probably the most recognizable Titans since they have headlined two separate animated Teen Titans series.
That’s really all we know about the Teen Titans movie right now. We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
