Casting for The Mummy 4 is beginning to heat up.
According to Deadline, Numan Acar, Kevin J. O’Connor, and Oded Fehr have closed deals to appear in the upcoming installment in the action-adventure franchise. Acar is a newcomer to the series, while O’Connor and Fehr were introduced in 1999’s The Mummy.
Fehr played Ardeth Bay, the leader of the secret society of elite warriors known as the Medjai who are sworn to protect Egypt from the franchise’s undead antagonist, in The Mummy and 2001’s The Mummy Returns.
As for O’Connor, he played Beni Gabor, a conman and servant of the resurrected Egyptian high priest Imhotep. He was believed to have been devoured alive by scarabs at the end of the 1999 movie.
No word yet on who Acar is playing. He is best known among American audiences for his role as Hassaim Haqqani on Homeland. He more recently appeared in Young Sherlock on Prime Video.
Franchise leads Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, and John Hannah are returning for The Mummy 4. Obsession‘s Michael Johnston is also part of the cast.
Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are directing the next Mummy movie from a script by David Coggeshall. The untitled movie is slated to hit theaters on October 15, 2027.
