Cosmo Jarvis in Shōgun

Shōgun opened more than one door for actor Cosmo Jarvis. After being cast in Guy Ritchie’s Wife & Dog last month, Jarvis has now joined Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming epic The Odyssey.

Per Deadline, Jarvis’ role in The Odyssey remains under wraps, just like 99% of the cast. The only actor whose character has been revealed is Matt Damon, who is playing Odysseus. Filming on the movie is currently underway in Morocco, with production then set to move to Sicily.

Who Else Is Starring in The Odyssey?

Jarvis joins an absolutely stacked cast for The Odyssey (which moviegoers have come to expect from Nolan). Besides Damon, the ensemble includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Rafi Gavron, Shiloh Fernandez, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Nick E. Tarabay, Jimmy Gonzales, and Maurice Compte.

First announced in October 2024, Nolan’s next movie was revealed to be The Odyssey two months later. An adaptation of the epic Greek poem composed by Homer around the 8th century BCE, The Odyssey is one of the foundational texts of Western literature. It tells the story of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War, exploring themes of heroism, loyalty, cunning, and the struggle against divine will. The tale includes iconic episodes like his encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe, culminating in his reunion with his wife, Penelope.

The Odyssey is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
