‘Tulsa King’: Sylvester Stallone Talks About His Role in New Taylor Sheridan Series

Sylvester Stallone is heading to television! Well, streaming television!

The acclaimed actor, best known for portraying Rocky Balboa and John Rambo, has recently wrapped production on the first season of Tulsa King, the latest series from the mind of Taylor Sheridan. According to the Italian Stallion himself, Tulsa King was “so much fun” to film and that the series was the hardest project he has ever worked on in his life.

In a video (and accompanying caption) posted to his Instagram account (via Deadline), Stallone remarked:

“What we came up with is something extraordinary and life changing for me. Keep punching, love you guys. […] This was a very long, difficult, exciting, mind blowing production. Though it was a long time to be away it was worth it and to work with fantastic talent in front and behind the camera.”

Tulsa King follows “New York mafia capo Dwight ‘The General’ Manfredi (Stallone) after he is released from prison and is unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a crew from a group of unlikely characters to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.”

In addition to Stallone, the drama stars Annabella Sciorra, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Will, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany.

Tulsa King premieres with two episodes on November 13, 2022, on Paramount+.
