
Beetlejuice may not be going Hawaiian, but he is getting a sequel.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Beetlejuice 2 is officially a go at Warner Bros. with Michael Keaton back as the titular ghost with the most. The long-awaited sequel has also received a release date: September 6, 2024.
Tim Burton is back to direct after helming the original 1988 film. The sequel will reunite Burton with his Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, who is playing the daughter of Lydia, the character played by Winona Ryder, who is also back. The film’s screenplay was written by Wednesday creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.
Who else is part of the cast? Well, Catherine O’Hara is reprising her role from the first film as Delia Deetz while Monica Bellucci is in negotiations to play Beetlejuice’s wife. Justin Theroux has also joined the ensemble.
Beetlejuice 2 is expected to begin production this summer in London.
