Watch The ‘Cobra Kai’ All Valley Karate Championship ESPN 30 for 30 Spoof

Even though I’ve heard nothing but good things, I still haven’t gotten around to watching Cobra Kai… yet.

But with Season 2 due to hit YouTube Premium on April 24, they are ramping up the viral marketing with a truly brilliant short mockumentary spoofing the long-running ESPN documentary series 30 for 30 that premiered on EW a couple of days ago.

It’s great to see the iconic showdown from the 1984 movie, The Karate Kid put under scrutiny in the documentary style interviews featuring stars Ralph Macchio (Daniel), William Zabka (Johnny), Martin Kove (John Kreese) and others. And as with any other 30 for 30 episode, ESPN personalities also throw in their own opinions on that fateful match.

“We are here today, 36 years somewhat later, and we’re still having this conversation. That’s just awesome.” – Daniel LaRusso

It’s a great little video that really did a solid job of piquing my interest in the show. The people behind Cobra Kai have seemingly delivered a solid follow up to the original movies.

What did you think? Have you watched the show on YouTube Premium or not?
