Weekend Fallout: ‘A Choir of One”

The Weekend Fallout is an unsafe place to discuss most things in the reel and real world.

Let us know what you have been watching recently on the big and small screen. Excited about any upcoming releases? Doing anything fun this weekend? Simply sitting around in your underwear eating dang quesadillas while watching movies and endlessly scrolling through social media? Let us know below!

It’s October and you know what that means… Shit is gonna get spooky around here.

MOVIES AND SHOWS WATCHED THIS WEEK

Evil Dead (2013) – I never really wanted to give this a shot when it came out for some reason. But all in all I gotta say it’s a damn good film. The director makes it his own but also keeps true to the original. 4/5

Event Horizon (2003) – Clearly Paul W.S. Anderson‘s best film, yet it’s still nothing all that great. I think the story is a little muddled, yet the cast does a great job throughout that it keeps you entertained. 3.5/5

The Stepfather (1987) – More of a psychological thriller than a slasher film, but Terry O’Quinn is just great as Jerry Blake / Henry Morrison / Bill Hodgkins / The Stepfather. He’s just obsessed with having a perfect family that he’ll do anything to make that happen. 3.5/5

Hocus Pocus (1993) – My wife and I never saw this when it came out, so we decided to watch it and see what all the hype was about with the sequel being released. It was fine overall. Thora Birch is the highlight of the film and basically the Sanderson Sisters are the Three Stooges. Also, it may be the first time I wasn’t completely turned off by Sarah Jessica Parker. 3/5
