What Is the Best Third Film in a Trilogy?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

Third films get a bad rap sometimes, especially in trilogies. Sometimes the original is the best and sometimes the first sequel outdoes the original. However, it’s rare for the third film to be the best of the bunch.

That’s today’s question: what is the best third film in a trilogy?

Toy Story 3. (What is this Toy Story 4 you speak of? Never heard of it.)

What a way to end these toys’ journey. That ending tugs at your heartstrings in a way only Pixar can pull off. And yes, I do think it’s better than the first two Toy Story films (even though I love both of them too).

So what about you, screenagers? What is the best third film in a trilogy and why is it not X-Men: The Last Stand?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
