‘Wonder Woman 3’ Back in Development at DC

DC fans haven’t seen the last of Gal Gadot‘s Wonder Woman after all.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Gadot revealed that she is developing a new version of Wonder Woman 3 with DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. “I love portraying Wonder Woman,” the actor said. “It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.”

Wonder Woman 3 was originally in development under the old DC Films regime, with Patty Jenkins and Gadot attached to return as director and lead actor, respectively. However, following the appointment of Gunn and Safran as co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios, it was reported in December 2022 that a third solo film for Gadot’s Wonder Woman had been scrapped.

Apparently, this third film will not be set in the old DC Extended Universe. In fact, it’s not really a threequel at all. If this new film moves forward, it will reportedly be part of Gunn’s new DC Universe. Gadot would simply be staying on as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman the same way that Judi Dench was brought back as M for Daniel Craig’s run of Bond films after playing that same role during Pierce Brosnan’s tenure as 007.

That’s all we know for now. We’ll keep you posted.

Do you want Gadot as Wonder Woman in the DCU? Or would you rather Gunn cast all new actors for this new shared universe?
