The MCU Expands With New Spy Thriller ‘Zodiac’ in 2028

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the small screen has been revealed.

During Marvel’s New York Comic-Con presentation, the studio announced a new live-action television series titled Zodiac. It will be a spy thriller release on Disney+ in 2028. That’s literally all we know right now.

Zodiac being the only new live-action MCU series in development at this time basically tells us that the MCU’s small screen footprint will be one per year for the foreseeable future. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 premieres in 2027.

The logo for Zodiac features some of the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo, which has many wondering if the MCU will finally acknowledge Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as canon. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of TV, stated a couple of years ago that he felt it “fits into The Multiverse Saga in an incredible way,” so never say never.

However, comic book fans have also pointed out that the “O” in Zodiac is pulled from Secret Warriors. In the comic, Zodiac was the Great Wheel, a secret council of 12 master spies assembled by Leonardo da Vinci. Each member was assigned a sign of the zodiac.

With production on Zodiac set to begin next year, casting is expected to be announced over the coming months. We’ll keep you posted.
