According to Deadline, Anthony Mackie has closed a deal to star in Captain America 4, which will continue Sam Wilson’s MCU journey as the new Captain America.
Marvel Studios is staying tight-lipped on what a fourth Captain America film might look like. At the moment, it’s unclear if Sebastian Stan will be involved in the sequel, but considering where Disney+ limited series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left the two heroes it would be strange for him not to appear.
Mackie has so far played Sam Wilson / Falcon / Captain America in six Marvel projects beginning with Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014.
Captain America 4 is being scripted by Malcolm Spellman, who served as head writer and creator on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Dalan Musson, who was a staff writer on the show. No director or additional cast have been revealed yet.
