DC Studios is clearly happy with how The Penguin has been resonating with audiences.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has tapped Matthew Orton (Captain America: Brave New World) to write a screenplay for an upcoming movie that will bring together Bane and Deathstroke. No director or stars are attached yet.
Also unknown is whether this will be a DC Elseworlds movie (à la The Batman and Joker: Folie à Deux) or if it will be part of the DC Universe, which begins later this year with Creature Commandos and officially kicks off next summer with Superman.
My thoughts? What a weird choice for a movie. I can’t see this being an Elseworlds movie, so this has got to be part of the DCU. Maybe this is secretly a Secret Six movie? Only time will tell. We’ll keep you posted.
